2019, forTurri, was a year of significant change. The company, whose DNA is deeply rooted in all-Italian craftsmanship, was able to capture new market needs and a change in the tastes of its reference target, succeeding in offering increasingly modern and contemporary furnishing solutions.

Recent partnerships have given rise to collections such as Milano, designed by Studio SBGA | Blengini Ghirardelli, Vine, by Chinese designer Frank Jiang, and Zero, designed by the young architect Andrea Bonini, who all interpret the new company philosophy, in their capacity as ambassadors of exclusive beauty, because they are capable of accommodating recent trends without forgoing the value of craftsmanship.

MILANO collection – “The overall idea was to emphasise lightness”, explained Giuseppe Blengini. “The structures are constructed so that every element is interconnected”. We expressed our idea of strength through exquisite materials such as steel, large meshes of tanned leather, glass and metals with a matte finish to create a rarefied elegance. We then chose to work on the finish of the surfaces to create bright and contemporary objects, using oak cut into thin sections to add flexibility and luminosity.

ZERO collection – “To design the collection’s furnishings, I sought to combine the essential rigour of Eastern style and the elegance of the Italian tradition, merging graphic elements and refined details, simple shapes and detailed artistry”, notes Andrea Bonini. “In addition, the various products, in my view, contain subtle references to the flexibility and attention to detail found in the works of Vittoriano Viganò and Carlo Scarpa”.

VINE collection – Enveloping upholstery and slim wood structures, similar to branches, are the common thread linking the elements of the new Vine collection, designed by architect Frank Jiang for Turri. All Vine products convey elegance through refined artistry and by combining several materials, while presenting clean, simple lines, often with compelling references to the geometry of nature, in every element of the collection. The wood detailing is certainly distinctive, and, as suggested by the collection’s name, is inspired by the weaving of vine branches. Here the wood envelops the upholstery, here it supports a surface, a container, then it becomes the detailing on a drawer. In alcuni elementi il legno avvolge un’imbottitura, in altri sostiene un piano, altrove un contenitore, ma può anche trasformarsi nel dettaglio di un cassetto.
